Hep B-Ware™ is part of a suite of mobile educational applications developed by the Institute for Molecular Medicine and Infectious Disease at Drexel University College of Medicine. Alongside Malaria Invasion™, CD4 Hunter™, and CRISPR Cut Out™, this series aims to enhance understanding of infectious diseases through interactive engagement.

Game Features:

• Hep B-Ware™ offers a 7-level simulation where players assume the perspective of the hepatitis B virus (HBV), navigating through the bloodstream in pursuit of a host liver cell to infect. Upon completion of each level, players have the opportunity to assess their understanding by answering a brief quiz. Additionally, scientific terms highlighted within the game provide links for further learning.
• The game integrates scientific accuracy with engaging visuals, animations, and straightforward gameplay to elucidate critical aspects of HBV infection mechanisms.
• Throughout gameplay, players can identify and articulate key stages of the HBV life cycle, including binding and entry into host cells, uncoating and nuclear penetration, transcription and translation processes, glycosylation of surface proteins, capsid assembly, and viral egress.
